Evening folks,
One thing that's bugged me about my 406 since I got it is the wind noise above 75mph. It sounds like its coming from the drivers side mirror, or perhaps one of the gutter seals. Is this a known issue and are there any simple ways to resolve it (i.e. new clips etc)? This issue is not present on the passenger side whatsoever, even at much higher speeds (125mph+ when I took it on the autobahn last year).
Best Regards
Ben

Re: Wind noise
I don't know I've never been that fast but I do hear road noise coming in round the drivers door somewhere, I haven't really investigated it but I suspect it's the door seal not fitting properly.

Re: Wind noise
Door / window seals sounds about right to me. I had wind noise on my old Clio and it was that.

Re: Wind noise
window all the way down. Put your knee against the door ( inside) grap the windowframe in the upper left corner. Give a little pull, just a little the frame bends very easy. That should solve the noise, if it does'nt, repeat.fattail95 wrote:Evening folks,

Re: Wind noise
You can also unscrew the door latch a tiny bit, and gently tap the latch inwards, say half a mm, which will pull the door in tighter but will affect the way the front/back door lines up a bit. This can be resolved by adjusting the rear door hinges inwards the same amount.

+1
I've done this on mine & a few car's in the past,
Over the years the seal gets flattened & the window frame slowly bends outwards very slightly.
A little time & effort & all sorted

Re: Wind noise
Or a different approach is to slide some small plastic tubing inside the rubber seal section to force it to press against the door better.

Re: Wind noise
It is common practice in the automotive bodywork sector to tweak door frames ect to get them spot on
