106 gearbox, lost 406 to eldest child.

Post by piglet »

1st day as named driver and he must have done nearly 200 miles in it already despite saying it's too heavy, old farts car etc. etc.
Meanwhile his 106 is in bits with the contents of the cutlery drawer stuck to the gearbox drain magnet.
Anyone familiar with 106D boxes? It's not making excessive noise and all gears still working.

Put some new oil in and put it back together, manual boxes give very little trouble and often outlast the the vehicle.

106 back together with new D/S and new oil in what's left of the gearbox.
Can't believe it's sill running quiet with all that metalwork swimming around in there.
Now to re-claim mine before he rags the clutch any further.
