New system of Fines for speeding

In April there's a new system of fines being introduced for speeding motorists.

The level of fine will be based upon earnings and the likelihood of receiving points and even being banned is far greater under the new system.

which, on the face of it, sounds pretty good, but you know it'll be implemented in the worst way possible, maybe by making the present fine the least possible, available to those on starvation-level incomes...

For a long time I've been wondering if the gubberment's final solution for getting plebs back onto public transport will be just by making the alternative prohibitive, rather than actually bothering to fix it. Look St. Maggie, no investment necessary!

It's difficult to see how a crime has been committed when nobody has been hurt and nothing is missing.

Hmm. The basic idea is to make people careful as they drive about with their 1.5 ton blunt instruments. The trouble is, with so many cars on the road, it's easy money, just make the rules a bit tighter and the fines a bit bigger and the money just rolls in.

Plus, it's easier than catching real criminals innit?
