Well after nearly 4 years of solid service we're looking at up sizing due to the ever increasing size of our 4 kids.
I'm still debating what to go for. I'd like to stick with a Peugeot which pretty much means an 807. T'wife has decided she likes the sliding doors and as such limits other options so common mpv things like the galaxy/sharan or zafiara are out the window, leaving not many options. Previa? Sedona?
Any thoughts on the 807? I'll be going after a diesel manual but beyond that haven't really given it much consideration (primarily because I loathe mpvs)
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Re: Replacing the 307
My daughter had an 807 that was a definite lemon, an 03 plate 2.2 HDi. We knew it was a bit of a ratbag at the outset, only paid £500 for it and fondly imagined I could resolve the issues we could see - airbag, abs and occasional antipollution faults. To cut a long story short, I spent hours on it and at one time or another cleared every fault at least once, but couldn't get them to stay fixed. After about a year of constant irritation we got shot of it. In that time it had a battery, both bottom wishbones a couple of other suspension bits and I fixed the alternator.
Our experience may not be typical, but if you do go for one make sure everything works and it has no warning lights or fault codes - give yourself a fighting chance of keeping it that way.

2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Re: Replacing the 307
Doggy was the 2.2hdi the same as the one in the 406? And similarly remappable?
I understand the attraction of buying a fixer upper but after my debacle with the jimny I'm going to try get a solid starting point this time.

It's the same 2.2 HDi, (or very nearly so - 4HZ instead of 4HX, IIRC), but you can't use a 406 map. You need someone who can modify the original.
Losing the DPF & EGR would be possible tho.

Seems most PSA stuff seems to benefit from a map, it should improve economy at least.
I still can't get over how stupidly high the tax is on them though.....
