water under drivers seat, 406 estate

Post by ynot9456 »

whilst refitting my center console after fitting a new cig lighter & usb sockets i noticed the carpet under the drivers seat was soaking wet, i went for the rear wash/wipe first to check it was working and found the jet was blocked and the water was coming out of the joint above the center pillar trickling down and under the drivers seat, theres another joint at the rear just under the roof lining above the rear speaker but that one was dry, so if your rear washer gets blocked get it sorted asap.

That's good advice and something I've not heard of happening before.

Another caution here is to carefully check and dry the multi-pin connectors which lie under the carpet there because if these corrode you'll get Olympic-sized electrical problems

i can understand why theres a join at the rear qtr , for when you need to change or remove the tailgate, but a join in the middle just doesnt make any sense to me .
