Post by FarmerPug »

Ive seen the pictures and read the news, whats it about citroen these days every new one that comes out just keeps getting better and better. The interior has to be the best in any mainstream car.

I realise taste is a personal thing, but that's ugly, with a capital 'F'.

did like some of the reviewers comments though, particularly:

'I fear steedie might be right, even though he can't spell'.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

I am already in talks with the local stealers about chopping my C5 in for either a DS4 Hdi160 or possibly a new DS5 once the initial rush is over, i think they are fine looking cars, i like my C5 but now im running the disco too i dont think i need anything as big as the C5, cost wise i can chop in the C5 and take a brand new DS4 in either petrol or diesel with almost full options for no extra cost, obviously if i went for the DS5 then its gonna cost me a bit more but we will see.

Over the winter the wife will be using the citroen and i will be driving the disco so the mileage will stay a little more reasonable and hopefully it will pick up less scratches than it does with me and my 1000km a week work drive.

But i strongly agree with you FP citroen are making some fine looking individual motors at the moment, i like all the little touches in mine like the wheel, the automatic lighting that comes on in the door pockets when you put your hand in there, the chilled/heated glove box,the auto boot, the massage seats with cracking heaters in there too,the seats are really comfy and infinitely adjustable, the suspension(when it works)is awesome and i think its still a damn fine looking car and i think the DS version just adds to it in every way, so for me its a YES i would and very possibly will.

Theres not enough cars around these days that have the wow factor you get by looking at a new citroen, the outside of the ds5 may not be to all tastes (i think it looks fantastic) but the inside, just look:

if your interested disco in a ds4, its a nice car some fantastic colour options but the rear doors because of their shape have fixed windows they cant be opened.

These new Citroens are impressive for sure but I wonder if they'll be able to shake off that old image affecting the pricing second-hand? traditionally once you've paid £7 or 8K for tidy newish Citroen then it's worth about 40p the following week :frown:

Citroen's are very safe cars now so hopefully these new interiors/build quality will strengthen this 'solid' image they need.

I actually love the styling on this. Would it be rude to suggest that perhaps Mr. Doggy is showing his age?
