Just had a massive row with the missus about booking a Holiday, apparently she wanted to come with me.

This year the entire clan, (us, our 3 kids, their partners, 4 grandkids and a large labrador), are occupying a previously peaceful corner of north Devon.

You might need to explain this to me...

Or is it that you'll be expected to do just about everything? :supafrisk:

I just (took about 4 hours  ) uploaded a short vid of the thunderstorm we had now yesterday evening. We'd had normal one earlier but I didn't stop hearing thunder all afternoon and then this one arrived. Almost constant thunder and lightening, I don0t think I've seen one like it before, accompanied by heavy rain but mercifully no hail or strong winds.

It rumbled on for a couple of hours after and there's still the odd rumble in the distance.

That car at 0.28 how fast!

I've never seen that much lightening so close together

Good to put a voice to your name :cheesy:

Lord alone knows, the limit is 50kmh there, 40 further back towards the school, but Croatian speed limits are generally bizzarre so everyone ignores them (unless the police are "fund raising" ) You'd think they'd know better, the road through the village doesn't actually go anywhere (unless you have a 4x4/don't care about your suspension) so they're residents doing that. Also, they're probably drunk as it was Jaska's "days of wine" over the weekend - i.e. another excuse to try and die of alcohol poisoning.

Speaking of daft speed limits, I notice the (signed) speed limit over the railway bridge near here is 50kmh going one way, 60 the other - do they even care?

I hate how my voice sounds in recordings, I think most people have that though.

Max says he's not seen a storm that vigorous since the 1970's, quite bizarre. He also got hail, not your usual round stuff, banana-shaped apparently (could've taken a picture, you knob :x )

There's a load of noise out the front, apparently it's going on for 2 days. I thought it was just the fire drunks having yet another party but according to Nada next door (it means hope, ok?) it's one of the national tv companies filming. Oh yeah, cameras, I see. What are they filming, a commercial (said tv channel is renown for being unwatchable due to the amount of adverts). No, some sort of movie.

All sorts of acting going on now, people shouting, crying, whistling (que? Nobody whistles here), doors slamming, loud bangs.

I took the GTX to download at the weekend, me the wife and a boot load of stuff and 600 miles. I got 54 mpg on the trip computer, worked out on the calculator at 52 mpg. I was going to go in the 924 but the 406 has cruise control which made the m6 and a50 easier and I felt easier leaving it in a field as the pug already got plenty of battle scars.

To download what? :? As you get older you'll realise a comfortable, versatile and reliable car is all you need. Besides, I doubt my back would even let me get in a Porch now...

Of course, t'wife rings me to come and collect her right in the middle of it all, so I have to reverse the yoyo through their scene and over all the cables. I did ask first. The yoyo's had to be parked down the road until they're done. T'wife reckons it's a soap opera. We also had to wait for a cut in case Scooter went mental when he saw t'wife coming.

Download festival, 3 days or rock music
To be fair it was more a case of I wasn't happy leaving my pride and joy in an unsecured field.

Ooh, speaking of pride and joy, mate of mine here Mislav has a rather nice black Alfa 159- Or rather he used to: in some places along with the thunderstorm Friday came hail. Mislav was caught out in it, he managed to find a tree to hide his car under but by then it was too late and he has about a dozen dings on bonnet and roof. Bugger :(

After looking at the car we then got talking about common faults with 406's and 159's, he had one where all the electrics in the car kept cutting out, just leaving the engine running blind. It happened more and more often until he found there's a multiconnector under the driver's feet which, with time and stamping about, fractures all the wires. No water necessary...

I suspect he spends more feeding the local fox population than he does feeding himself. Ah well, he is 85 and perfectly entitled to go a bit nutty.
