... or the other one which really gets me nice and pissed off - when I'm overtaking someone who's doing 60 MPH, and they accelerate up to 70 MPH as I'm beside them.

SO many people do that now it's unreal - young people, old people, professional drivers, women, men, mums with cars full of kids. We're not actually racing, y'know. I'm only overtaking you because you were driving too slowly. So why not just wait til I'm past you, and have safely pulled in front of you at a good distance, and THEN speed up to match the speed I'm now going at?

It's bad enough that happening on dual carriageways and motorways, but the muppets do it on single-carriageway roads too...

That annoys me more than anything or when they speed up so you pull back in behind them and then they slow back down

Directly proportional to the age of car you're driving I think. Mr PCP Audi does not taketh kindly to a 13 year old Volvo breezing past. "Old" cars belong in the slow lane where they can chug along and break down every 40 minutes and "cost a fortune" in repairs

As my learned colleague from Harket Marborough is well aware:
226 bhp/320 Nm lugging 1500 kg will do nicely......
as will 185 bhp/420 Nm when applied to a venerable 406

Ah gotcha, squeeze gas pedal...bye bye 8)

Large Van overtook me this morning [1] and cut STRAIGHT BACK in front of me showering my freshly washed motor in grit and shyte, thanks for that. In fact next time someone does that I'm gonna do it back to them :frown:

[1] I was driving during the engine warm-up stage only 4 minutes from home, 60mph on a dual carriageway, actually f*cking Van shouldn't be doing more than that anyway :frown: he should be sent to prison with no food.

Break out the marshmallows!

This morning I've been working outside just wearing a t-shirt! In just a week it's gone from -12 to +15  What have I been doing? Why, I've been sawing up firewood because the forecast for next week is -6 and snow. Arse :(

Next job: Clean out the boiler

Registered letter...Toyota...airbag....recall...contact local franchise....appointment

I knew it was coming but I thought, with the demise of Takata, it would be a very long time coming. This will be RAVII's 3rd major recall, after the throttle sticking catastrophe and the collapsing rear suspension debacle, I'm sure they'll once more be bigging up "Mr.T" on the owner's klub (not bothered to go there for about 3 years), blabbing on about other marques that wouldn't bother but FFS, this is vital safety stuff, other marques don't get this amount of it so wrong :(

Apart from Ford, obviously :supafrisk:

One for Welly perhaps:

Fitting upper arms on the drivers side of the passat, not a terrible job but would have been easier if I didn't have to take the sodding strut off.

So here we go, all the nuts and bolts given a good soaking in wd40.

Image

Everything came undone easily, but were back to the same problem I had when doing the lower rear arm.

Image

Why they put the bolt in that way I will never know. It turns what would have been a relatively quick job into a much more involved job. Anyway I removed the strut and while it was off I gave it a quick jet wash to get all the crap off.

Image

Image

New arms on and back together, ready for the suspension to be jacked up and everything tightened up.

I was going to do the other side but as it's not knocking yet I'll leave it for another day.
