Another PSA triumph  Apart from half a tank of diesel (it still says it's running on fumes) and the stupid locking ring it wasn't actually that bad. I wouldn't like to do it on the side of the road but I guess it's possible if you get the car up high enough.

The new workshop is stonking, there's a stack of pics of the move on the farcebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... 2493649771

It is possible 'on the side of the road'. I've done it using the curb as a 'ramp' on one side. Hang the exhaust and loosen the handbrake cable, as above. Undo the filler pipe at the filler end, then fold it in half and secure with a cable tie, stops fuel spilling out. Undo the six bolts and drop the tank, I use my legs to balance it, and slide it out the side of the car. Once it off the car you can remove the cable tie and pour the remaining fuel into cans through the filler pipe. I used a picture framing clamp to undo the locking ring, basicly an adjustable length G-clamp.

Are you, by any chance, a contortionist?
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

I've been called many things in the past, don't think contortionist was one of them!
