The one on the lock on the boot.

On the saloon and coupe, they are the same part. I think it's even true between D8 and D9 saloons / coupes.

The estate has an entirely different boot lock badge from the saloon and coupe. Not sure if the boot badge on a D8 estate is interchangeable with the one on the D9 estate.

Boot badge on a D8 & D9 estate is interchangeable, but it is just a badge - not the boot lock. Late high spec D9s seem to have just a chrome lion badge though, as opposed to the trapezoidal badge on the earlier models.

Only visual difference between the back end of a D8 & a D9 estate is the black plastic trim that runs along the bottom of the tailgate - on a D8 it is just plain black plastic whereas a D9 has the chrome trim running through.

I've been updating my list of bits on the first page as I think of things so I'll add that one to it.

Well, from this:

I'd guess you weren't quite answering Steve's question :) There are three badges on the boot lid - one that says "Peugeot", one that says "406" or "406 HDi", and the one on the boot lock.

Y'know those kids that, when you tell them something, they say "Why?" and then you explain, and they say "Why?" and you explain some more, and they say "Why?" That kinda reminds me of this particular conversation :cheesy:

It always annoyed me that when kids ask their parents questions the usual reply was a snapped "because I said so!". Why can't they take the time? Then I talked to my nephew - "Why's that then?" "Well, it's because blah blah blah" "So, why's that then? "Well, you see blah blah" "Why?" "Oh fgs you little... because it is!". No I understand why my dad told me so much bollocks when I was a kid

Nah, not really :P I'll have a squint through later for part numbers etc. I'll also have to copy all the pics (so they don't go walkies) which will take me a while. And there's a stack of others on the KB I didn't do yet too :(

ah that the why phase, my young cousins are at that age. If they ask why, ask 'are you sure you want to know' if they reply yes then you get the chance for a why at them?

and why would you bother taking off the 'peugeot' '406' and them sticky badges the bootlid push button opener button incorporating the peugeot lion badge and on saloons the thing that also acts as a handle is really the only badge thing that can be removed and placed back on another car effectively.

Any number of reasons. Someone pinched one of them, it fell off, looking tatty, replacement boot lid, etc.
