irember having a car that iused to wash and polish every other day it was near mint but iwanted that bit more minter,

Dolly!! Strangely this car hasn't been named by us but our old Citroen was knicknamed goldie because my nans boyfriend who had it before me named it so it stuck.

At the same time we bought a Nissan Micra which we named noddy.... Never been one for naming cars but before these cars we had a yellow fiesta that one day the wife came out of work and realised she had parked on a blocked storm drain resulting in a foot of water in the front foot well.

That was later knicknamed "yellow submarine"

Philip Marlow & Mike Hammer refer to their cars as "my heap" (this is from the 1930s and 40s so maybe it was something to do with how crap cars were then ) and these days that's good enough for me. Mercedes drivers already have the decision made for them. Wasn't there a car ad campaign back in the 80s featuring the words "what's yours called?", which Not the 0 O'clock News took the Michael out of with Mel Smith's car breaking down and him having a few choice names for it?
