406 speedos are much better than the 405 ones which looked as if they were being held by an alcoholic.

Your speedo would have to fairly well out of whack to be showing 70mph & have a lorry tailgating at 56 - safe to say he was unlimited at the time.

Pre 2001, 7.5t lorries were unrestricted
We had two of them

I also was coming out of london once, and as I merged into M25 there was 2 Italian artics
I had to speed up to keep up with them
We was doing 75 un the end
The lorry I was in, had had a new tacho head, and calibrated at the time, and was fairly accurate to GPS speed, so i'd say it was right
There is the odd one or two unrestricted lorries floating about post 2001

Either that or they've pulled the fuse out, but as laready mentioned by someone else, they are on borrowed time

I'm back!!! I take it all back, the award for the worst drivers in Europe goes to Austria - they're insane!!!

I would have liked to say that the car never let me down but... seems like Krešo the mechanic left the bleed screw on the thermostat housing loose and I lost it on the Autobahn, followed by the coolant :( A bit of a scare at the time but all sorted and the last 600-odd kms went without a hitch. I even have a quarter of a tank of the cheap diesel from Luxembourg left 8)

I'll write some more in a bit, meanwhile there's much to do. 4 pages of posts to look at and the garden looks like a sodding jungle :( :(
