However one problem, would you want to make a clio into a 206, personally i think the clio is a nicer car.

yeah true .

the 206 isnt abad car,
only thing ifound after driving one a few hundread miles there one uncomfatble car, my back is knakerd after driving the thing,
the lag was heaven to drive after being in that for a few hours.

small cars = town cars me thinks

and fuel wise lag took 1/4 tank and the 1.4 pergo 206 took just over half atank same journey..

They are both uncomfortable, unless you get a clio with the flat basic seats, on my dynamique the apparently better buckety seats were awful to sit on, but the ride comfort and insulation were spot on, with the 206 the seats are ok its just the pedals and wheel don't feel as comfortable to use and the interior isn't as posh looking as the renaults.

ive not drove the phase2 clios tbh,
ihad one of the mk1s years ago, it was a good motor solid car,

the 206 is abit iffy to say this one is a 07 reg it feels worn out,
clunky /roddy gearbox ,
gearbox screams at anything over 80mph. :cheesy:

Ive never drove a 206 but I've sat in a right few at the car auctions they always feel worn out.
Back to this clio though, after keeping the alternator in a bucket of red diesel overnight, then putting it in the vice grip and spinning it with the impact wrench its now spinning freely with no problems, so back into the car it went with a new belt all wired up again and there is no alternator light anymore, even the voltmeter reads a higher voltage showing its charging.

One thing looks odd about this clio is round the boot:

This looks like its been worked at by someone in the past and on both sides, but why? there is no signs of accident repair anywhere else, but its definatley not standard here is the same area on my own clio:

it looks very viable for restoration the car underneath hasnt a pick of rust and everything looks straight.
the problem is its not worth much even if it was in mint condition it wouldnt fetch £500
