I really like that one... my car looks clean and shiny

I'm going to have to dig my tripod out and give HDR a go one of the days. I generally dislike most HDR shots though due to them being far too exaggerated. I'd love to do myself a bonnet cutaway too, but I've never gotten around to it

Welcome skilled and wise one :cheesy:

Yeah, any hints and tips???

I've found a few tutorials and stuff online, so I'm just going to have a crack at it. I've got a Canon EOS 400d which I believe has a setting to take 3 consecutive shots with varying exposures. So I'll get hold of a copy of photoshop (got one coming from another source thanks Dar  ) and have a play 8)

Right, best thing to do (and it sounds like you're on the right track) is mount the camera on a tripod and set it to take the 3 exposures (called exposure bracketing), at -2, 0 and +2 EVs. You could get it to take more which results in a smoother image but takes longer to process.

Set the camera to shoot in RAW mode, if you set it to JPEG you'll loose a lot of useful information from the image.

I wouldn't bother with Photoshop TBH, it's HDR stuff isn't very good, I'm a convert to PhotoMatrix.

Can the 400D do that? My old 300D needed hacked firmware to enable RAW output...

My 30D doesn't though :D 20GB of images per airshow though
