Who is always there when you dont want em? ......

...... Yes its the Bloody Police.

Took the Sierra out on Sat nite for a little "play", I did have legal tyres on when I left my house but 1hr later when the T5 stopped me they were bald (slicks) for over 3/4 of both tyres. Even tho I explained I lived about 1 mile away, and they had just went like that and I had 2 Alloy Wheels and Tyres in my boot but no Alloy Nuts to put em on I still got 3 points and £60 fine.

Was told if I didn't change them straightaway he or another Police could do me again if I drove it further. So out with the crappy Ford jack, eventually found out how to use and where to stick it, got both Alloys on using the Steel Nuts. Drove 100yds and NSR wheel came off. The nuts had not come off, but the nuts had gone thru the hole in the Alloys. Out with jack again, Alloys off, bald tyres back on, I had no choice put to drive it. Anyway I got it home ok without anymore trouble. Gotta hand me CLEAN license in for last 13yrs to have the 3 points put on. £60 fine would have to come when I aint got a pot to piss in.

My fault for risking driving on bald tyres like, but ffs for the distance of 1 mile, clean license and a clean record I recon he could/should have let me off with a warning. Anyway lesson learned to make sure not only I have 2 spare wheels, proper nuts but that I actually change them when they are bald.

Illegal tyres are illegal tyres.
Whether you're just nipping to the shops or off to a local track.

It is a bit sh*t you got caught for such a short distance, but thats sods law for ya. If you don't want to pay for it, don't do it.
