Just a quick tribute to my Dad who taught me that a looked after car will always look after its driver. Truer words never spoken.
Today marks the 10th year since his passing. The feeling of loss is still raw and sore.
I'm off to run in the wood Dad took me up each weekend after we moved to Scotland to enjoy and get to know, just like he did as a child.
Tis the best way I know to show my appreciation.
Miss ya dad

This year marks the 14th anniversary of the day my Mother lost her fight with the big C at just 50 years of age. I often think how much love she'd have for her 3 grandsons (2 mine, 1 my brother's). She'd be soooo thrilled if she could see them.
Chin up dude!

Dad lost the fight against the big C too. He was only 36. We think he got it as a result of the injections given to him and his unit in preperation for shipping out to the first Gulf War. However he never went as his superiors wanted someone experienced around to train the noobs. That pissed him off.
Anyway, just back from my outing in the wood. I the big found tree Dad, my siblings and I visited a few times between 93 and 95. One afternoon we all carved our names into the bark. Mine, my Sister and my Brothers carvings are clearly visable! I wasn't to sure if I found my dads. His full initials would be R.C.L.R.
I distinctly remember him lying on an almost horizontal trunk and carving away and in that spot I found a big R.L. I wonder...
Also found carvings me and my cousin did a year later. He dated his 6/3/96 I simply put CR + SR, didn't think to date it, but I remember carving it the same time he carved his name.
Lots of memories from that tree. Was good to be up there, alone with my thoughts miles from the nearast person.
My thoughts are for you at this time mate(sorry, can't find your name!);what a respectful post .
I am probably,at 59,the oldest member on here, and it feels good to be a part of a group of people ,many much younger, who, unlike a lot of the negative news stories we hear of today, have genuine thoughts & feelings for others.
My son ,Sean,is 23 and I just know he would feel for me after my eventual passing ,as you do for your Dad......10years or half a lifetime later, you dont forget,I promise you.
And your words about looking after a car,etc,.....with the cars i'v been through, including 405/406s, and i'm glad he's taking it on board ! (Same applies to Windows & computers in general,as well)
