Not sure if it is relevant, but my 2.2 exec VIn has VF38E4HXF in it, where as my donor car ( Rapier ) has VF38ERHZF in it.
Could the R mean Rapier?
It does have basic trim but more gadgets than basic model.
What exactly does Rapier mean?

I did notice a threshold setting possible for activating it, set to -1.75 g and think the dogmobiles's was set to -1.2 g or something like that.
Could some kind soul with working EBA, please check how their's is set as I don't feel minded to experiment.

8E is 406 estate (8B is saloon, 8C coupe)
4HX/RHZ/RHY/XFZ/etc are the short engine codes
then comes a checksum digit before the sequential number

I saw a rapier today in a scrap yard.
It had the walnut trim and seats like mine... Though I understood rapier meant black trim, door cards and seats?
