Pug in a ditch

Remember that eBay ad where a '6 was advertised thrown in a ditch? Welp, I relived that yesterday when I managed to take my eyes off the road on the German autobahn, realise the car in front of me was about 2 meters away and I was doing 90mph. Had to brake harshly and swerve to the left sending the car spinning into the ditch back side first.. :-( There were loads of cars around but somehow, with someone's help from above, I managed to miss all of them. Had to have the car towed out of it, but amazingly enough it started and drove like nothing happened! And no dents either, just a couple of minor scuffs (very minor) on the passeger door. Loads of grass and dirt have gone under the engine cover and also into axels and even tyres! Will be sorting that out tomorrow weather permitting.

This morning, however, when I reversed and then braked, rear wheel (left I think) produced some really scary scuffing noises... I am thinking it may be just grass there, but I'll remove the wheels tomorrow to check. After that, I drove from Germany to Denmark (about 150 miles) without an incident. Oh.. the passenger electric seat stopped moving, but I'll be checking that tomorrow as well!

Upon entering Denmark, I was surprised to see how many '6s there are here. More D8's than D9's too - even saw a 406 Coupe!

Oh yes, indeed. I'd get no end of stick from every one I know.

Checked the seat today - just a dodgy earth connection. I still get weird groaning noise from the back when braking, but ONLY from cold when the car has been parked, say, overnight and the noise goes away after I brake a few time. Weird...

I took all the wheels off today to check for play (none!) and remove any grass. All seems OK there... I guess the MOT inspection in 2 weeks will reveal the true damage...

On a brighter note... I really like Denmark... it's so peaceful here... gotta move!

Erm.. so anyway, I've been to a hockey game and the brakes seemed fine then... Hmm... What a tough car. I mean, I did crash it at 90mph!

So, how do I cover up the scratches then.. They are only superficial ones but you can see them. It's mainly the laquer that's scuffed rather than the paint underneath it... Anything I can do myself? Or is it a respray jobbie?

Yes only ninety, and yesterday I think I averaged about 40 around Hamburg and Duisburg... And I thought British roads were bad....

The reason I was doing around 90 was to save on fuel and lemme tell you it works! I drove 150 miles from full and the fuel guage hadn't moved. I thought it was broken! Done 300 miles on quarter of a tank (yes, I know, plus some in the filler bit thingie)! I reached 500 miles at just over half the tank at which point I refuelled.

Anyway, battery running out on the laptop... toodley doos!
