Got me an ICE problem

Post by Zippokovich »

Haya, not posted here in a while but i guess thats a good thing because i only really post when i have a problem!

But i've had my D9 for 6 months now and im just getting round to fitting the stereo.

Its the same amp, speakers and head unit from my last car (a 306) and everything should be fine apart from the head unit i have has a bloody Renault controls connector as opposed to a peugeot one - so if i install that radio i will loose the controls on my steering wheel stalk - and i don't want to do that.

What i want to know is if their is any way around this problem that keeps my stalk controls and if there is not one that keeps my current radio can anyone recommend a cheep head unit with the right connectors that has an aux-in? (apparently no version of my current one has one)

you'll be wanting a couple of autoleads adapters
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Hope this helps : http://www.autoleads.co.uk/

halfrauds do stock autoleads stuff and definetley can get hold of what they aint got on the shelf if what ya after aint there, Im uncertain if all head units support the steering wheel controls, i know the sony xplod head units can with an adapter to sort the steering wheel control cabling side of things, unfortunatley my JVC head unit just dont work :( as well as the steering wheel controls not being supported, the output of the audio was through the speakers, as well as the alarm speaker under the bonnet, making for a very good P.A system but not everyone wants to know about " PRESET 2 !!! " literally down the street. Hope the link helps mate, and if you do get around the problem ( should it arise on your car ) of having a P.A of local traffic alerts please let me know as i want to fit my head unit too :cheesy:
