replacement stereo

Post by crispy »

Hi guys need some help with this one, ive got an after market stereo (sony ) and when ive fitted it, the damm thing switches itself off after a while as if its on the timer from the ignition. When this happens the stations ive programmed in all get lost and ive got to start all over again to reset them, spoke to someone in halfords and dont trust em to be honest as with past experiance. I have been told that i need an adaptor or cut wires this is where im lost, so if anyone can throw some light on this for me i would be very greatful many thanks

Is this with the engine running?

Might help if you tell us what flavour of 406 you have too.

should be a simple case of swapping the red and yellow wires on the Sony loom if you look there should be bullet connectors in the middle of each just swap them so the red runs from the stereo to yellow on the ISO connector and the opposite for the yellow
