Standard Clarion CD Changer problem

Post by pugface406lx »

Hi there...Ive got a 406 V Reg which has a clarion 6CD changer in the boot...it has been fine but Ive not been using the car for a few months and now i want to use it i noticed the cd magazine just seems to scroll through the 1-6 discs without actually settling down and becoming active. It justs clicks through each disc when I load the magazine in the player. Even from in the car it doesnt recognise the CD function at all. The radio and the cassette player function normally...

Any ideas guys as ive tried all i can think of......i even loaded the discs the other way facing up in case I had put them in the magazine incorrectly ??

cheers

Sounds like the loading mech. is stuck, try a reset, or take cart out and pull the power plug for a few mins. Otherwise, you need to open it up and see what's jaming the mech(spider :cheesy: ) while you're doing that clean the lens, that may be the problem in any case, dirty lens, player can't read disc and thinks it's faulty so tries to load the next one.
