phillips 4030 no lighting

i have a stock cassette player it has the display built into the radio but it seems the bulb has blown the rest of the radio works as does the tape player just cant see the settings or display does anyone have an idea on refitting a working bulb or is it a case of put up with it?

I'm not familiar with that particular radio but most of the older ones were lit with special bulbs which were not at all easy to change unless you were handy with a soldering iron and a microscope, later ones have LEDs. Is it a stand alone radio or is it integrated with the dashboard?

its a stand alone one but works off a stalk to change volume and the likes

You will probably need an ex TV engineer like myself only I'm to far away.

My bro's old 1.9TD had the same unit, with the same problem. I stripped it down to fix it, but found it used LED's and didn't find a solution.
A replacement is probably your best bet, but you will need a code for it.
