Full or semi muxed

Hi,
Can someone please shead some light on this, 1st what is full or semi muxed, 2nd I have just read a topic on here where Doggy states that 2002 cars are fully muxed,in one of my topic's about mp3 player links, someone said that if your car is fully muxed it should work.
My cars a 2002 model.

Fully mux cars appeared at build code 9000, in mid/late 2001. The complication is that some cars were built a long while before they were sold/registered, so the registration date can be misleading.

If you look at the sticker on the 'A' pillar, visible with driver's door open, among the tyre pressure info you will find a number, something like '0961428'. The build code is given by digits 2 - 5, (in this case 9614, from 0961428). If it's 9000 or more your car is full-mux.

Checked mine today, it's 0932889 so from that 2-5 is 9328 so from what you say my car is fully muxed yes, doe's this mean I can just plug in & play with a mp3 player connection box via the multiplayer switch / plug.

I don't personally know about the MP3 connection, but think I've seen posts, either here, the coupe forum, or both saying you can just plug it into the head unit in place of the cd changer.

Thinking about it, that might mean you need the cd changer enabled with pp2000, (if it isn't already).

If anyone's already done the MP3 thang, please speak up, cos I'd like to know too.

I haven't done, but all the afirmations are right, if you don't have cd changer installed in the car and you want to install the mp3 box on the cd changer slot of the radio, then think twice because you will need PP2000 to activate the CD changer option on the radio, if you already have cd changer then it's plug and play.

Well I've now got my pp2000 & my little lappy to run it on , just got to get it all running smoothly now

9328 translates to build date of 23rd April 2002 (it's the number of days since 1976-10-08. 89 is the code for the Sochaux factory.

When I enabled the autochanger on mine (fully mux, no autochanger) I got fault codes in the radio complaining that it couldn't find the autochanger on the vehicle network, and the autochanger button still didn't do anything. I'm interested in hearing about any more successful experiments

rwb, did you had anything plugged on the changer slot or it wasn't anything connected? maybe the fault is due because of having the option enabled and not having anything connected, but that's a bit strange anyway.
