that way will only work the rear speakers no ? I'm just asking by asking, i'm going to an eletrician that is used to put this things up and i'll asking what i want it to behave.

because what I imagine is that all the speakers are connected to the amp, but in later time if i want to remove the stuff the speakers still work .. if you know what i mean.

thank you.

I thought you could buy adapters so you could wire in an amp to a factory fitted stereo, this might be of help:

I am looking to do the same, my question is though that the speakers have the signal amped already, amps normally require a preout so the signal isnt boosted twice? unless the OP is refering to the JBL system that came in some of the 406 models.

I am a total noob at this and may be wrong, im a computer technician not a mechanic :P

Currently, all your speakers are being amplified by the head unit itself. If you'd like to add a subwoofer and amp to your setup without changing the head unit, you can.

Almost all amps support 2 types of input: High level and low level. A low level input would be provided by a pre out on an aftermarket head unit. A high level input uses a signal that has already been amplified - I.e the exact signal that would arrive at a speaker.

In your case, the standard head unit doesn't have a pre out, so you'll need to use the High level input on your amp. Essentially what you'll be doing is to disconnect the rear speakers and send the amplified signal into the amp instead of to the rear speakers. Once the amp has the input that would have gone to the rear speakers, it can send it back out to the subwoofer, or in the case of a 4 channel amp, it can send one signal for the bass to the subwoofer and a second normal signal to the rear speakers.

As I've the affluence of a dead badger in a foreign country, I've drawn a little picture to help explain:

Image

Note that despite being a 4 channel amp, there are only 3 signals coming out. The signal to the subwoofer needs to be bridged - there's usually markings on the amp to show you where to connect for a bridged output.

Depending on which head unit you have, the speaker outputs can be reprogrammed as pre-amp outputs. I have the Clarion unit (can't remember the precise model, though) in my car, and when I had my local mechanic enable the CD changer input he walked me through the various options for the radio in PP2000.

I believe you can even change the front and rear outputs separately.

Thanks for the info, unfortunately the guy who was doing the fitting damaged my radio because he touched the remote of the amp on the metallic surface of the radio... it started doing a lot of hissings and strange sounds and some times the music really stops working, and if you moved the head unit around or something the strange noises were worse don't know how to describe...

But it was fixed today, but it's not that well fixed, tomorrow i will have to take it to take another look, if the man there doesn't don't where the problem is he said that he need to send the head unit to a shop that repair radios ...

Oh well ...

See you all in some days

Ok, sorry for the triple posting here, but i need some help.

After fitting this( It was a friend of mine who did it) :

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180750216315? ... 1497.l2649

Most of the times the radio and display keeps working after i turn off engine and strange is that the battery icon on dash shows up even when key removed ...

But if i turn off the readio before i turn off motor this problem doesn't occur and if i turn off the radio when the problem is occurring it stops right away ... I do hear a click sound from a relay ...when the battery icon is on and when it's off ...

So .. maybe the inverter was connected to cable that have always live feed ? and not switched feed ?
