Input to Clarion CD head unit

Post by rwb »

The Clarion CD head unit has the capacity to operate with an auto-changer, right?
I don't have an auto changer. So, can I connect an MP3 player and get it to pretend to be an auto-changer?

E.g., I saw this: http://www.incaripod.com/Vehicle/Peugeo ... _Interface
but I shaln't be paying that much, and of course there's no stalk control of the device.

Any ideas?!

Yes it wouid work
But you wouid need pp2000 id say,
as cd changers arnt plug and play if its not configured for one,

have you looked in the boot to see if youve got the wiring for a changer
if it has it may already be set up for one,

In the boot on the left I have a storage compartment.

On the back of the head unit there are three rows of connectors.
The bottom is a rectangular black connector.
The middle is a rectangular white connector.
The top is three square connectors clipped together to make one rectangular connector. They are blue, green and yellow. Only the green one in the middle has any wires to it.

This sounds like the connects 2 yoke i put onto my 406: On the top block of connectors you split off the blue one to the cd changer, and slot in the new one that goes to the iPod adapter.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-206-4 ... 624wt_1363
it charges the iPhone all the time when plugged in, but when you select cd mode it plays the music and has full control over the songs it can change track even rewind or fast forward, there is no song information on the radio display except for the track duration. It also shouts out the voice of the tom tom app. Although apple being stupid doesn't put the call through the bottom connector it would be perfect for hands free calling but you still need to use the loudspeaker. (Jailbreaking it might get sound out through the speakers but I'm not sure about all that jail breaking stuff)

Here is an installation video i did the time it was put into the car (cut to 6:28 thats when it moves onto the adapter):

Ah! I see!
That's perfect. If a bit pricey.

What's the yellow connector for?

Out of the other two connector one goes to the screen and the other is for the stalk controls, i just cant be 100% sure which one is yellow though.
It is pricey but the sound is great, although my cousin did want to play songs from an mp3 player not an ipod and its not able to cater for that requirement.

Control stalk on pre-mux cars? I have a screen and a control stalk and both work but only the blue connector has any wires to it.

It says smart car, but it looks the same as the blue plug for the cd changer.
