Wasp thats a damn fine offer, people like you are what makes this forum so good, you sir are a gentleman and a scholar.

Blue2 it might be worth sticking your location up in your profile so people can see where you are for these kind offers of help.

Likewise if you're in my part of the world, Doggy's Dognostics is at your service..

Doggy's Dognostics is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping fellow 406 owners. Those with too much money and/or too big a grin are permitted to contribute to the beer fund if they see fit
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Thank you all very much for your advice, and your generous offers of help. I'm new to this and still trying to work out what I'm supposed to do and not do, so sorry to anyone that I have managed to confuse. By the way I live in Exeter ( sometimes sunny) Devon. If anyone locally can help I don't mind paying.
