CD Changer

just bought CD Changer for 02 406 estate can anyone advise if there is a designated position for installation please

Open the tailgate, the changer goes behind the side panel on your left.

mine fitted well in the Wheelie bin :supafrisk:
its hard to find a cd changer that works they either skip tracks or suffer from water ingress :(

i can probably tell you how to stop the water ingress :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

it took me about 2 months to stop water leak in my boot :supafrisk:

Mine was the Boot seal,
itook it off today and sprayed it with silicone it looks like they dry out and split
ive not had any water leaks since hopefully it will keep dry as my Amps are getting bolted in soon but ithink theyl be getting bolted to the metal part under the shelf 8)

hi, dont know if im poting correctly but can anyone tell me the difference between clarion 6 cd changer model numbers, i have 2 and the numbersare different. 1 reads the payer and wont play, and the other doesnt even get recognised. can anyone help please.

The one for the 406 is the one that uses the CAA-355 cartridge

hi thanks for the reply, both of the units i have use that cartridge my original changer is pu 2293, the other one is pu 2145. the 2145 plugs in to the fitting ok( blue 12 pin plug) but head unit in car doesnt change to say cd in. 2293 says search cd and plays nothing, it used to work a couple of months ago. my car is 1999 v plate 2.0 hdi (110 bhp) GLX facelift model.

Hi mate,
Try unpluging it and then plugin it back in again,
if that dont work take the cd changer out and Give it a Gentle shake,
the Lasers in them where they move along the track can Get stuck sometimes,

Might be Worth atry
or Failing that Try a Differnt cartridge Ive got a spare one if you need one,

hi lozz, i have tried all the things you suggested but nothing works, i have tried both cartridges in both changers and still get the same results, its starting to get on my nerves as it worked ok a few months ago. if there are any more suggestions i would appreciate them guys, cheers.

Tbh ihad problems with having a cd changer
ijust gave up with them, and put an mp3 player in its less hastle,

the changers get abit iffy with age its not just peugeot changers that are tempramental ive had the same with other cars too,

ok cheers lozz, i have a sony cd head unit, will fit that, cant be bothered with the hassle
