Radio model questions

Post by FarmerPug »

Ive been on servicebox but cant see anything for radios themselves.

whats the difference in this PU-2473A:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PEUGEOT-406-MK2-C ... _852wt_907
and this PU-2318A
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PEUGEOT-406-MK2-C ... _614wt_907

they both have cd players and look the same, whats the possible differences.
Im still after a cd player one thats compatible with the JBL amp so i can rip out the sound supressors to cope with the issue of putting a radio not compatible with the amp.

iduno mate: they look both the same tome,
Maybe ones out of a later model puggy,

Iwouidnt mind one of them but that Vin coding thing puts me off,
or is the a way round getting the code off them withought sending them to a specialist place?

Ford radios i can de-code in secounds but ithink they wouid be awkward todo

Not seen anyavailable as yet thats been de-coded so ithinks iwill have to by an aftermarket head unit :(

They're both being sold by the same seller, why not contact him and ask. Mind you, I'd steer clear of the faulty one.
It may only be 12V but it's the amphere that kills you!

I think I counted 77 possible variations, (but that's only for 2.2 HDi estates).
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Ok, seeing as the alternative is cleaning out the boiler, I'll try and make some sense out of it.

Seems like all these PU1234 codes are meaningless when it comes to Service Box, all there are on there are the part number (which doesn't appear on the radio anywhere) and TAG codes. New radios start with a code beginning TAG, reconditioned radios finish with a similar code without the TAG:

Presumably the TAG code will appear in the same place but, from the code on my radio, it was a reconditioned unit

This is all the stereos with amplifier equalisers, although not the ones without RPOs to be safe:
TAG 9643180480 UNTIL RPO No. 09638
UNTIL RPO No. 09638 96431804XT
TAG 9643180477 SINCE RPO No. 09639 UNTIL RPO No. 09989
SINCE RPO No. 09639 UNTIL RPO No. 09989 96431804YW
TAG 9654351777 SINCE RPO No. 09990 UNTIL RPO No. 10742
SINCE RPO No. 09990 UNTIL RPO No. 10742 96543517YW
TAG 9406560GS8 UNTIL RPO No. 09973
UNTIL RPO No. 09973 96516038YW
TAG 9651603877 UNTIL RPO No. 09974
UNTIL RPO No. 09974 96516038VV
TAG 9655264677 SINCE RPO No. 09974 UNTIL RPO No. 10742
TAG 9655264677 SINCE RPO No. 10743 :?
SINCE RPO No. 09974 UNTIL RPO No. 10742 96552646YW
TAG 9406564328 UNTIL RPO No. 08723
UNTIL RPO No. 08723 9636705080
