After Market Head Unit for 406

Post by splitpin »

Are there any after market Head Units that can be connected to the existing display? I was told that Sony did one but can't find it.
Cheers, Graham.

You need two things for this to work:

1) A Sony head unit (pick one based on what features you want)
2) An adapter kit from Connects2

The adapter from Connects2 comes in two flavours - one for 406 D9s from 1999 to 2001 (semi-multiplex), and one for 406 D9s from 2001 onwards (fully-multiplex, with COM2000 control unit).

The adapter not only links your Sony HU to the steering column control stalk on the car, it also outputs the display from your Sony HU to the MFD in the car.

However, I'm not sure if anyone here has ever actually bought this part; most people dispense with the MFD integration idea and go for the cheaper stalk-only interface.

The Connects2 part numbers are:

CTDPGS002
- OR -
CTDPGS003

Unfortunately I can't seem to tell which one is for the pre-MUX cars and which is for the fully-MUX COM2000-equipped cars.

Hope this helps a little

Cheers
Graeme
