I have a 2001 SRi Estate and i would like to know what options i have available to me in terms of in car entertainment.
The current radio set up I have is standard speakers and standard Clarion mulit changer compatible CD radio with no changer in the boot though.
In my old car I had a aftermarket CD player with an aux in port for my Ipod.
My main worries with the current radio are the stalk controls and if these will be usable with an aftermarket radio, and what about the radio display above the heater controls? will this be lost?
The other thing which i just thought of is what about the aftermarket radio in the standard radio hole? are there adaptor plates avaiable?
What other Peugeot radios are available - from either 406s or other models pugs?
Thanks in advance.

If you buy a Sony head unity, Connects2 makes an adapter for it which allows you to control it via the steering wheel stalk. The adapter also apparently controls the MFD.
I don't have one of these adapters (yet - it's on my to-do list), but I can certainly recommend the Sony head units. I have the MEX-BT3600U, which has Bluetooth hands free, a USB port on the front for connecting memory sticks full of MP3s, and aux-in connector (3.5mm headphone jack style), works with CDs stuffed with MP3s, audio CDs, and allows streaming Bluetooth audio also.
Mine isn't fully iPod compatible (i.e., you can't control the iPod from the head unit); there are other Sony head units that do allow full iPod control.
I got mine in Halfords, fitted, for under £150. Well worth the money. The sound quality is superb, and the "XPlod" graphic equalizer gives you a good bit of bass, even through the stock speakers.

Re: SRi options available
£10 for a fascia adaptor, and you can just plug in whatever you want
The screen won't be used (unless you buy a sony head unit and some expensive adaptor thing)
The stalk won't be used unless you get a pair of adaptors (look at spending £30-£50 I think)
