New HU...confused!

New HU...confused!

Looking to replace the Clarion HU on my 2004 D9 (Hdi S) After reading through this forum quite a few times I thought I was ready to go and spend some cash but still have a couple of nagging doubts.....
I've planned on fitting a SONY unit together with the connect 2 DPGS003 adapter so I can keep the dash display.
Does this sound OK?
My nags are:
1. Not sure if the current system has the JBL Amp (the handbook says I do) though I can't find one in the boot (just the SatNav)
2. If I go ahead does this likely to cause any conflict with the SatNav? not too bothered about this; though I like to think I can return everthing to original spec should I need to.
Any help would be appreciated
