That speed camera van i went past at 28mph, my friend got a ticket from it a few mind later for doing 54 in a 40.

CJ i dont know what my 0-60 time is, the device has gps logging but the speed isnt 100% accurate. But i reckon the car can do it aroud 10 seconds with the floor mat pulled back (its got a habbit of going into its " eco mode" by piling up behind the accelerator pedal)

The manufacturers marks on mine are Chinese writing, so I haven't a clue who made it, but it was bought it for the last car. As well as filming for around 5 - 8 mins in the event of a collision, it also has the ability to film anybody messing with the car. I also like the picture-in-picture from the rear one. It was a prezzy, so I only know it came from China via EBay. Had it for just over a year, and it has never missed a thing. Only problem is that it does not like recording in highest resolution, so I have both front and rear cameras set for 720p. It will do higher resolution if I disconnect the rear camera.

Ive not opened mine up to see what the chips inside it are but i can't imagine it being much different, at that price its good value.

I made a headrest mount today (mainly for the subaru but it should be able to fit into any car) out of a bit of the box section used for the shelving in the mushroom houses, a cheap camera balljoint off ebay and a universal phone tripod holder:


It uses a pair of U bolts to clamp onto the headrest, one is fixed into place, the other is adjustable so it can be used in different cars:


A bit of old glove wrapped in tape around the U bolts was used to give a bit more grip onto the headrest poles, a bit of hose might be neater but this is cheaper:

Its for holding a proper camera when I'm operating the subaru, Ive had it in a ditch a few times recently



But i also wanted to make this to hold a camcorder inside a car instead of trying to use a tripod and making it sit still.

How's that Subaru been for you? Seem to remember you getting it for next
to nothing, IIRC.

Or is it just for ditch exploration.

Its only an old thing for raking round the fields, i use it mainly for storing tools in the boot.

It would need the sills welded towards the rear wheel arches as i can see holes, the exhaust needs replaced, the suspension is old and tired, the handbrake seizes if it sits for any length of time, and there is bad rust above the windscreen.
Mechanically its 100%, and everything electrical still works even the heated seats. the starter is a bit weak but once it starts it gets round the fields very well.

I like the Subaru, I wouldn't be surprised if someone turned up in that saying it cost £2,000.00 to be honest, although not really knowing what they cost but it looks fine certainly not a shitter anyway.

Erm, I wouldn't like to be in a crash with that attached, cant help but think it would end up straight through my neck!

Its attached very solidly to the headrest, the bar itself has plastic caps on each end to prevent it going through necks. The iphone might fly out during an accident due to the design of the mount but a normal camcorder could be used instead.

Its not too much different than one of these
