hello people,
bought a 1999 v reg 406 hdi a few weeks ago, had no cd changer in boot, but i managed to aquire one. its a PU-2145a model which i am assured is compatable with my 406. tried plugging it in and although my 406 has a 12 pin plug, the same as the cd changer ( seems to plug in ok, but plug seems to be slightly different shape ). turned the ignition key and got no power at all, tried turning the plug the other way around to no avail. when looking around the cd changer bracket found another bit of wiring with a plug end on and dont know what this is for, any help would be appreciated. i need me toons!
thanks Macc

Re: clarion cd changer no power!!
Did the car have a changer as a part of its original factory fit?
If not have you taken it to the dealers so they can enable the CD Changer?
If it was not fitted at the factory when your car was first sold, then it needs turning on in the BSi for the radio to accept there is a changer in your car. It'll usually cost you half an hours labor (about £35-45 depending on your dealers hourly rate).
Hope this points you in the right direction.
