Headunit replacement with JBL amp

I was having a poke around just now and discovered i have a JBL amp in the back of my car, i've heard thats bad news when it comes to replacing the headunit, mine doesnt appear to be connected unless those loose connectors are for something else

can i just buy a new head unit and install it without any fuss? i might get a clarion one so i can use my control stalk

those look nothing like the connectors on my coupe's jbl amp

damm, i recognise the little grey connector theres one similiar thats loose behind my headunit,

the big yellow one doesnt look related but i thought the blue one might have something to do with the amp...if not what could they be for

Did Peugeot do something sensible for a change and put in extra wires and connectors for a towbar?

BTW, the grey plug you've got behind the dash near the stereo is for the steering column control I think.

that would make sense, both posts lol,

what does this mean for replacing my headunit then, is it just as simple as plugging a new one in?

All sorted..got myself a Alpine 102ri and with some tinkering i'm running through the OEM JBL amp, sounds great

also got the autoleads facia plate for £3 on ebay and its excellent quality, its so subtle it looks like its supposed to be there

hey you may beable to help me out then!. i have an aftermarket headunit. didnt no anything about this amp in the boot so i have a constant loud hissing! is there a way of working with the amp? or bypassing?

it will sound great with an alpine. best head units on the market mate the 102ri is a brilliant radio
no other make can beat alpines

any good decent car audio store will tell you that as well

i prefere the old school alpines than the new ones.
