Hello all
This forum has been recommended to me by a member of another forum that I use quite a lot. He says you’re a friendly bunch and know all about 406’s
So here goes, I bought a 2.1TD executive estate.
It has no multi changer in the boot
The radio cassette does not work at all. I put a cassette in it and cant find an eject button
It does make some funny noises
The multi fictional unit does not appear to work, but I think I have seen it display the temp on the top right hand side, only it was very dim
The battery had been taken out and charged, so I’m assuming the radio needs a code
Lots of questions
What is the model number of the multi changer in the boot?
Does anyone have one I can buy?
Will not having the multi changer fitter stop the radio working?
Exactly what is the function of the multifunction display? The owners hand book is useless
Does it display the radio station/ CD number or what?
Im assuming the radio cassette fitted is the factory original
Any help, information would be much appreciated
If I had the model and make of the multi changer I would think of buying one on ebay, if no one here has one they want to part with
Thank you all
Best wishes

hi Don & welcome to the fold.
Afraid I don't know anything about your sound system as it has nothing in common with mine, but rest assured someone sensible will be along shortly...

Re: Pug2.1TD executive esate multichanger and radio problem
i would say your best bet is to buy an aftermarket mp3 cd player, rather than spend ££ on standard stuff because standard stuff is usually naff in the older cars.

Re: Pug2.1TD executive esate multichanger and radio problem
The MDF was so dim I couldn’t see the radio needed a code
Put the code in, all is now well with the radio cassette, I found the eject button LOL
The radio cassette has Philips written on it, I’m assuming it’s the factory fitted unit
So I now have two questions
What make is the multi changer in the boot and what is the model number?
How do you “brighten” the MDF display?
I’m not into ICE in a big way, so the factory fitted unit is fine for me
Thanks everyone for your input
