Just thought I'd get together some useful videos.

First up, the two bucket method and why it's used.

When I use Bucket No.2 (the sacrificial bucket) I dunk the mitt......then wring-out away from the bucket, obviously the water goes down and down but one bucket full seems enough to do one car.

My second bucket has no grit guard but this rinsing takes place pretty quick so I assumed particles would still be hanging in the water if I wrung out into the bucket which could see bits being transferred back into Bucket No.1. It's still a good system whichever method you go for rather than keep going back to the same bucket.

Who'd have thought washing your car would be so complex?

What can I make one of those grit guards out of to go in my 99p buckets?

You really want a detergent-only rather than something that pretends to Wash-n-Wax. A nice shampoo that won't strip the waxes or leave any coatings, something natural like Zymol is nice, bit pricey but you don't need much of it. I'm using a 3M shampoo ATM but have been disappointed at the lack of foam/bubbles. I've tried Do-Do juice and Chemical Guys shampoo's with nice results (smell nice too).

If you haven't got a grit guard you can always rub your mitt on your Nan's face, that's what I used to do but when she died I had to buy the proper kit
