Leather Seats

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Leather Seats

Post by Andreus84 »

Am going to start messing about with my seats to get the electrics running in them.

The only question i have is do all leather seats for the 406 come with heating elements in?? and how hard are they to setup if they have them

I am running a 406 lx with imported seats from a different car

Whats the best way to power the seats and also are their heating elements in them and if so how is the best way to set them up.

Help please!

the wiring is all there for the heated seats, you just the switch for the centre console and then cut the pen holder out and glue it in place, the plugs are under the seats, have a search about the electric seat wiring as i had a problem also when i did mine

I love my heated seats and would insist my next car has them too

That guy breaking his 406, that's maybe not a bad way to get rid of a 406 if it's had engine failure or whatever - especially the exec spec you could list out loads of gear to sell on egay and you should get more than the cars worth.

So, like, what car has 'her indoors' bought? i am intreagued [spelling?]

I remember trying to teach her indoors the finer details of Climate Control, the pitfalls, the bonuses etc.

I gave up when she opened the windows in the summer with the a/c on and opened the windows in winter because it was 'too hot' and 'stuffy'.

Please let me know how long it takes for your missus to *fill* her Corsa with loads of crap. My missus car has got clothes, shoes, brushes, aerosols, spare change (but not enough for anything), food, drink, magazines, receipts, 8 year old de-icer (who's propellant has long been depleted), mud and grit and a 10 year old A-Z :|

My car has got nothing on view, at all.

My boot has an umbrella, that's it.

Weltie.

hehe was going to say that my self but refrained from doing so as my missus just looked at me funny and said "i like them.."

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but it might be helpful, what controls the heating element in the seats as I'm not sure my drivers one even comes on? its getting cold in the morning here and when I've been out doing bits to the car, i like a nice toasty rear end, but the seat never seems to heat up. pretty noticeable with the leather as they tend to hold the cold more.

On D8s, there's the switch near the handbrake, and the circuit (separate to any lighting on the switch) isn't powered unless the engine is running

even with the engine running, it doesn't appear to be heating the seat?

Any points i should be checking first? or common problems i should be looking at?
