External air flap

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

External air flap

Post by 486 »

The motor for opening and closing of external air flow does not work (as on many other 406). I plan to restore it and even have metal axis (hand made) to replace the plastic. But I wonder whether it is possible to make some support for the flap and keep it fully open. Now it hangs vertically and air flow is about 50% external and 50% internal. I think for 2 plastic gills which will press the flap to fully open. Is there somebody with similar solution already tested?

Here is a photo of the flap. I can easily put folded wire or use insulating tape to stick the flap but if something drops down it can damage the fan which is below.
