How to determine the correct part if there is Since/Until OPR?
I'm always confused when I see this.. Since OPR and Until OPR..
How to determine what part is the correct one for my car?

Re: How to determine the correct part if there is Since/Until OPR?
It's to do with the date the car was made
All 406s have a 4 digit ( stamped on the NSF strut top under the bonnet early models ) or a 5 digit number ( on later cars it's on a sticker on the drivers door pillar ). Sometimes the OPR is referred to as the DAM number.
Basically, as the car evolved over the years changes were made to the wiring, or the engine, emission systems etc - this number will determine if the part will fit your generation of 406.
Have a look on your car, if it's a late one then it'll be a number like 09123 ( ignore the first digit when using diagnostics )

I've checked both of my strut tops and there is nothing and on the sticker there are 2 numbers 0943789 and 20203 but none of them looks like is the correct length. Do I just read them wrong or am I looking in wrong places?

The 09437 bit is what you're looking for, which I think would make yours one of the last 406's.

Yours is a D9 so you need the sticker.
Your number is 9437 - the 89 on the end refers to the factory where the car was produced ( I had forgotten that bit, sorry.. )
Popular colour too

Nice, and when it finally starting make sence I get something like this:
Both parts are Sing OPR 09338 which is lower than my OPR number... but there is that 'and age >= 2' what does that mean?
Can both parts be used? Actually there are 3 part numbers are marked in red... so confusing sometimes

Unfortunately the parts list is not infallible.
Example I've used it for air conditioning seals only to find they had actually built the car with the supposedly superceded parts.
Can be helpful if there is a physical difference between the alternatives and you can see which one you've got.
Many parts, like alternators a/c compressors etc. will probably be interchangeable as they would have swapped between alternative suppliers for cost and/or availability reasons

89 is Sochaux, most saloons & estates seem to have been born there.GingerMagic wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 2:50 pm Your number is 9437 - the 89 on the end refers to the factory where the car was produced ( I had forgotten that bit, sorry.. )
The age thing used to mean second-line spares (i.e. cheap crap) but this seems to be a recon part - if the car's less than 2 years old give them a new unit but if it's more than that fob them off with a recon. As far as I know they only fitted 2 (so I've no idea what the PSA one is, probably junk) https://www.406oc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=151849#p151849

Re: How to determine the correct part if there is Since/Until OPR?
I got another one.. this time the part that is needed is missing.
Any idea how to get the part number if it is not there?
On ebay/eurocarparts/autodoc etc. I was able to find the condenser that I need and the listed OEM parts numbers are: 6453.EC, 6455.AS, 6455.CQ, 9636722480, 6453EC, 6455AS, 6455CQ

Looks like your source missed some data.
I looked that part up in my Servicebox backup "virtual DVD" and found this for you:

Hey, thanks frog..
Are you using an offline backup of servicebox?
Where did you get yours from?
I am only aware of ssg.asia alternative to servicebox.

Re: How to determine the correct part if there is Since/Until OPR?
Yes, I managed to download a set of .ISO files containing the "SEDRE" and "DocBackup" (ServiceBox) DVDs. Although not the latest versions, they perfectly cover our types of vehicle.
I mounted the DVDs onto a "VirtualBox" image of Windows XP. It was quite a learning curve to get it all installed but it works reasonably well now.

Re: How to determine the correct part if there is Since/Until OPR?
Was that from official servicebox website you downloaded them?
Or some 'other' source?
Would love to get a copy if they are still available somewhere.

Re: How to determine the correct part if there is Since/Until OPR?
No, not official. I think you can buy (read: "get a download link") via various sellers on Ebay. IIRC I found my set via a well-known peer to peer file sharing system. Or just google around a bit, you'll find your way.
Installation on a virtual machine requires a bit of tweaking. You must be a digitally skilled (to some level). This link shows an instruction how to install: https://www.car-auto-repair.com/peugeot ... tallation/
