Replaced doors / Central locking problem

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Replaced doors / Central locking problem

Post by Szmoryboy »

Hi!
We have a 1999 406 RHY. I replaced doors from a 2002 RHZ and the central lock is not working properly.
the front lock motor connector in the front doors is not the same. Everything else works perfectly!

The old 5 wire
the new 6-wire
How can I solve how the lock works?
(Sorry for my english...I'm from Hungary)

Is it not possible to use the old lock motor in the new door?

It's a bit tricky but I'm sure you could put the old wiring loom into the new door?

In my opinion, this would be your only option. The 2 cars would have different bsi's (which controls the central locking). Yours would be an early version, the donor the later version. My experience with these cars tells me that, unless you can find decent detailed wiring diagrams for either system, it is unlikely you will get it to work. Don't just try to make them work as you run the chance of damaging the bsi. Just put the wiring looms and central locking units from your old doors into the new doors.
