PP2000 or MPPS for remap HDI tuning

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

PP2000 or MPPS for remap HDI tuning

Post by Gilly »

Hi guys and girls.

I am looking to get an online remap from hdi tuning for my hdi 90.

I see they recommend the MPPS tool for this.
Is this the best option or PP2000.

I see a lot about PP2000 on this forum but maybe it’s just for diagnostic work and not ecu flash?

Thanks again,
Andrew

You can't reprogram the ecu with PP2000, you need MPPS or another flash programmer.

Many of us have used the old Galleto 1260 for 406's with BOSCH ecus, but your HDi 90 maybe a Siemens unit - I don't know what you need for them.

The Siemens can only be mapped by sending your ecu to hdi tuning or you can buy a
ecu direct from them that's unlocked.

Hi Andrew.
As you have already said, PP2000 is for diagnostics only ( although it can do more it isn't a flashing tool )

Doggy has used his Galletto several times on my previous 406s without issue - although we are always cautious - however they have all had the Bosch ECU which is a doddle to do.

If yours is indeed the Siemens ECU ( the Hdi 90 can have either Bosch or Siemens ) then your best bet would be to get an off the shelf ready made ECU which will be plug and play, plus no future immobiliser issues if your car suffers from water ingress too :cheesy:

You are looking at around 120bhp with one of these ECUs - a vast improvement over the standard 90.

Contact Hdi tuning, have a chat and see what they can do - they are a good bunch, very approachable and experienced.

You can fit the intercooler and pipes from an Hdi110 but you'll need to either buy the cooling fan shroud to go with it, or cut the blanking plate out....

The turbo itself is purely mechanical, not ECU controlled, so that's less wiring to sort out :cheesy:
