Which one to buy

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Post by soretoez »

Hi guys I've sold the bodykit for my old car got 20-30 spare had to buy the diag lead for the wifes astra :( which lead should I buy galetto 1260 or mpps? Is one better than the other or about the same? Thanks in advance.

I'm looking to do egr delete first then see what happens on mot in a few weeks then de-fap.

Both are ok to use, I believe that our own Doggy prefers the Galetto 1260 or it's what he has
Pro Steve at HDi-tuning.com favours the mpps ?

You could try sending Doggy a pm, always a very helpful & approachable chap :)

I've used mpps when remapping our passat, found it easy to use.

Thanks guys I was edging towards the mpps the one I was looking at says it comes with a load off maps for different cars I wouldn't use them personally but just for digging around in and learning, I'll get a mpps ordered tonight or tomorrow then at end of the month probably get myself a stage 1 map from hdi-tuning.

I wouldn't use the generic maps either. When I did our passat it was very straightforward, then the 3 of the most nerve racking minutes of my life where it says erasing flash  then uploading the new file. I made a couple of backups of the original just in case things don't go to plan.

yeah definitely won't be using them. I have no idea how detailed ecusafe is but hoping I can pull maps from a few cars I have access to and just compare them to the supplied maps just to be nosy maybe learn a few things.

Hi guys my mpps arrived today got a few copies of my map off the car tried ecusafe 2 to remove egr done it all in the correct order but doesn't confirm at the bottom that it's removed the egr is that normal?

been slowly working my way through the engine issues just gotta get shot off egr and try to work out why my auto wipers only work when stationary or crawling in traffic as soon as I get above about 10mph bugger all they just stop wiping.
