This may save someone a headache............
Mine is a 2000 2.0 Hdi. I followed the suggestions in this ;

And upon starting and going to put the drivers window up, it would move about 10mm and stop, lift and repress the switch, repeat.................
I repeated the disconnect procedure, but with the window fully up, disconnected the ground lead, refitted and back to normal. I'll note that the auto close on the drivers window sometimes closes and immediately reopens, so maybe the problems are related.
Electrics.........

Re: Battery change hiccup.
This is normal behaviour.
When the BSI is powered down with the window down, it needs to relearn where the "top" is. Keep moving it up by 10mm until it hits the top. Then hold the switch up for 2 seconds. Then push the switch fully to lower the window fully.
After this it'll behave as normal

Re: Battery change hiccup.
D8's were the same, it's the ecu in the window motor that gets confused.
This gets asked quite a lot, I really should put it in the Knowledge Base so it's easy to find but I'm not sure what to call it. "Disconnected my battery and now my driver's window's messed up"? A bit too long I fear. Probably easier to just answer when it's asked
