Non flashing flashers

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Non flashing flashers

Post by Nandad »

On the test drive the indicators on my 97 executive started acting up, right turn does not work until I hold the stalk up. No dashboard light noise nout. Left turn works great. Would a replacement stork fix it? Will I need to remove the wheel to get to it? Some differences in other posts so I am unsure.

No you don't have to remove the steering wheel.
That's the later model d9 .
As yours is a d8 its just the same as pug 306 /saxo etc.
Plenty of info on here and the www.

Its common for them to fail...its build up of grease on the contacts.
You can fix them if you have plenty of patience and an hour to spare...

Took the switch apart. Small spring broken on the return assembly. Replaced with a spring out of a retractable pen which was the same size, length and tension. Lots of dried grease, soaked with contact cleaner. I found a 1/2 frank coin stuck to the lower cowl. Quids in!

Thanks
