G'day all,
2004 HDI Sedan....
Love my HDI, but the electrics make Lucas look like a saint! Who puts the main computer connector in the lowest point in the car?????
Anyway, My remote entry key with the 2 buttons, had the misfortune to have the button covers fall out, so I ordered a replacement cover from ebay, put the guts across and tested the door open close. All good. Went to bed, got up, opened the car and now the immobiliser doesn't recognise the key. Luckily my spare works.
1) How do I reactive the old key?
2) can I have the code from the spare copied to the faulty key?
3) Cannot get my Chinese Version of PP2000 to work for hell or high water, Does anyone have a copy of the software they KNOWS works?
4) No where in the manual for the car does it mention having to smear myself in chickens blood and dance around naked in the moon light to get the car started.... Every now an then in the past the immobliser would error, but I would just try again and she would go....ahh
Thanks in advance.
Paul in Australia.

Re: 406 KEY fob Problems....
Hi Paul and welcome aboard.
2) No.
3). When you say it doesn't work, do you mean the software won't run, it doesn't recognise the interface, or it won't talk to your car?
Seriuosly, being able to 'beat' the immobiliser occasionally and having to turn it off/back on is not unusual.

1) Have you tried the resynching procedure in the manual? If this doesn't work you need the 4-digit PIN code that came with the car and a working PP2000pocoaust wrote: 1) How do I reactive the old key?

Read it again, carefully.....4) No where in the manual for the car does it mention having to smear myself in chickens blood and dance around naked in the moon light to get the car started.... When you say you transferred the guts across, I take it that included the tiny transponder chip too?

In case you did miss it pocoaust, it's hidden here.....depending on what 2 button key you have. Being a 2004 model, your key will be different, but the principle remains the same.
