Heated mirrors???

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Heated mirrors???

Post by richyb83 »

Hello, if anyone has read my other posts they will know I am currently messing about with my ambient temperature sensor in my passenger mirror. Whilst doing this I found electrical connections to the actual mirror and what looks like a heating pads. I can only assume I have electric mirrors! (I checked out the spec on parkers and they confirmed it). Can anyone tell me how these guys work? Not in the sense that they heat up to demist the mirror but in the sense that they don't seem to have a manual control so I can turn them on and off so they must be linked to something else. I was thinking the demist function on the automatic aircon but I am curious to figure it out. Any ideas?

They come on when you use the heated rear screen. I think most cars that have these are the same. At least all Peugeots are.
