As I approached the car the Siren seemed to be coming from the back of the car is that a Peugeot standard alarm? I thought it would have been one of those alarms that sets off the Horn only
Anyway I suppose the heat inside the car set it off (or all those black thunder bug insect things, they seem to like alarm sensors!).
I've turned off the interior sensors now and left the windows open slightly (with the deadlocks on ).

Yeah its a high pitched siren that squeels like a pig being butchered ! There SHOULD be a key switch in the boot to turn it off, if yuou ever need to ?

What does the button next to the handbrake, behind the heated seat buttons do? It looks like an alarm switch of some sort.
Its had me stumped since I got the car.

Sorry to butt in.....
That button turns off the interior sensors, turn on the ignition, press and hold the button untill the red LED lights up on the switch, when you let go the LED will light up when you lock the car but the interior sensors will be off.
Hold it down again to turn them back on again.

On mine (although it may be different as it's mounted next to the dash brightness/headlamp adjusters) you don't need the ignition on. It just works...
One question I have is if you activate the switch then hit the lock and deadlock/alarm buttons on the keyfob, does the alarm still sound if someone manages to open a door or try the ignition?
Cheers Welton.
Now I just got to figure out how to turn OFF the automatic lighting.
I asked 4 of 6, but although the gobbledegook reply was amusing and entertaining, the answer wasnt there!
Every day im finding new features- on a pugeot?? Something aint quiet right!
Well Welton, The lights are a cracking idea, but up here in the summer the twilight lasts nearly all night long, and some nights the lights come on way too early and I feel the car looks a bit poncy when the lights are on and theres no need for them. I know the button on the end of the indicator stalk turns them on, but when pressed again it just makes the bong noise and nothing happens. Aah well........
When I got the 406, I knew about most of the features, but for the life of me, I couldnt figure out how the mirrors folded, till I went to move the mirror in a hurry to look at a "sunshine shiela" with cracking airbags. The bloody mirrors folded and I saw nothing!
The alarm button is the last thing I didnt know about.
Cheers,
miniman

I was trying to make it inconspicious, cos the missus was the other seat cover at the time.
What about the automatic pilot button on the dash? Doesnt your 406 have one!!??
