Electric Window

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Electric Window

Post by Andreus84 »

Just got my car back from the garage.
going to be doing certain bits to my car to get it up to scratch this week.

A new fault has arisen today - my drivers side electric window.

Symptoms are - window goes down fine but on the way up it keeps stopping and then i have to press the button again for it to continue a bit further, i find i am needing to press the up button around 5times for the window to go up.

Any ideas on what the problem is or what i can do to repair it?

Could be the autoreverse needs resetting.
Open the window all the way down and then close it keeping the button held on the first click, not the auto close.
Mine has a habit of doing this when it feels like it, I think the glass may be binding in the runners somewhere but I can't be arsed to have a look at the moment

I seem to remember something about opening it all the way and holding the button 'til you hear a click, then closing it any way you can and when it's closed hold the button for the click again.

Don't think so :?
I posted on this a while back & quoted the manual for someone; I'll have to look it up.

This has sorted itself now, maybe because it had been left standing for a couple of months with no battery connected.
But window is working fine again now
