Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

PP2000 help

Post by cliffk »

Hi
I now have my PP2000, took a while to install but eventually seems to be working on a Dell laptop running windows 7. the display is different to those I have seen on youtube and also it came with only 1 disc (youtube videos I have seen use 2 discs).

Tried to use it today but have problems, i can select my vehicle (406)I am then prompted to type in the vin, thats fine it then takes me to a screen with 2 banners one says DIAGTOOL the other says PEUGEOT PLANET 2000 mousing over highlights the relevant banner clicking on PEUGEOT PLANET 2000 I am prompted to type in DAM, I have no idea what this is except I have read it is 4 digits there is a sticker on the drivers door opening where the tyre pressures are shown on there is
0958689
20360
EZRC**
2260
I have tried 2260 and combinations of the other numbers but I am returned to the banner page and cannot proceed any further, I have tried with the laptop connected to the car and disconnected.

Any ideas?

Hi Cliff, well done on getting this far.....
Your DAM code is 9586 - the first 5 digits minus the 0 ( obviously later cars will have a 10 as the first digits, not 09.. )
Sometimes the DAM number is referred to as the RPO number - both the same thing.
EZRC is your paint code.

Correct.
There are several options on the main page, only Peugeot Planet 2000 works...
Then 4 options, you only really need the test by ECU option, then global scan to get you started.

I have tried several times over the weekend to get into my copy of Peugeot Planet without success, I think it could be the software so now considering uninstalling the software and starting again, a bit of a daunting prospect as it wasn't easy to install but I cant think of anything else to try.

Try this link....

http://www.mrv6.co.uk/software/Diagnost ... ivator.rar

As you already have the hardware - the above link is a proven and reliable source for the software, should you chose to reinstall.

Courtesy of Chris (MrV6) on the Coupe forum.

Without seeing your laptop pages it's hard to suggest what to try next to get into the program, sorry.

It's a known problem trying to run it on windows 7 ect, you want to run a virtual XP on your laptop
Make sure you have ALL anti-virus software turned off, this is why most of us opt for a old xp laptop.

I dont know much as my I.T mate did mine BUT you will need to clear the laptops memory
i.e: back to manufacture's original settings (as new)

I just bought a cheap laptop from eBay and installed the disc, however it took a few tries.
I have since installed PP2000 on other people's laptops with success, so I believe Cliff has just a Diagbox CD and not the PP2000/Lexia disc.

Cliff, try the link above - it should hopefully sort you out.

Hi Ginger magic

That could be true the shortcut on my desktop says diagbox but when I open it I do get a page where I can choose Citroen or Peugeot, selecting Peugeot I get all the models then I get the type vin page followed by the type dam page that takes me to choose diagbox or Peugeot Planet thats where it stops.

Thanks for the link I will uninstall what I have and try the link. will try it on my win 7 machine first.

Give it a go.
Most PP2000 buyers receive 2 discs, one is Diagbox for later models (508 etc) and this resorts to a PP2000 file when selected - however you wouldn't be the first to experience difficulty with Diagbox on older cars.
The 2nd disc is PP2000/Lexia, which is for models up to around 2010, so perfect for the 406, and much more user friendly than Diagbox in my opinion.

Please let us know how you get on.

I followed the link and it downloaded a RAR file which I extracted I ended up with a folder called PP2000lexiactivator, this contains a video file called PP2000 lexiactivation which is basically an instructional video and a key gen.

The video shows virtual XP being opened on a widows 7 laptop I struggled with my win 7 laptop and gave up trying to download virtual XP.

Have now dug out my old XP laptop and managed to download the RAR file and extract it again the extracted folder is called PP2000lexiactivation and only contains the instructional video file and key gen I cannot find the software, any ideas?
