LED Rear lights

Hi All

Is any one replaced all rear (brake/indicator/reverse etc) with LED bulbd

I did a while back. I got the wife out to put her foot on the brakes to check them, and found them to be very dim. In fact they were so dim, you could hardly tell the difference between brakes on and off. I put the originals back and they have stayed.
I do know that they have come on in leaps and bounds, but it will be a while before I try them again.
